Natural Gas Measurement |

| Natural gas measurement is needed to accurately measure the flow of natural gas, whether from an oil and gas production well, pipeline delivery point, gas gathering system, city gate delivery points for local distribution companies/natural gas utility companies, as well as sales to commercial, residential and industrial customers. Natural gas measurement also includes determining the physical and chemical makeup of gas mixtures, how such mixtures are affected by temperature and pressure, and how to best determine and select the optimal natural gas measurement equipment for that specific application. Accurate natural gas measurement also includes the requirements to properly calibrate and maintain natural gas measurement devices, whether they may be meters or orifices. |

| What about the pipeline company's cost cutting and downsizing techniques? Many cost cutting decisions are made without knowledge or understanding of their long term effects upon the measurement system. This is a trend not only in the petroleum industry, but in many other areas of expertise. Several cost cutting cuts may be warranted. However, it still remains true that without proper attention, certain parts of any operation will fail causing major problems throughout the rest of the company. |
